Seating: No matter which trim you choose, the BMW X5 provides comfort and versatility when you need it the most. The xDrive 40i is lined with Sensatec upholstery with 16-way power front sport seats for you and your copilot to enjoy. These sports seats include two-way power side bolsters and the driver's seat features four-way lumbar support and memory settings. xDrive 50i features 20-way multi-contour front seats with 2-way manual lateral adjustment for headrest. Driver and passenger seats include thigh support and memory settings. Interior upholstery for xDrive 50i is styled with Vernasca Leather.

Drivetrain: The drive train for both of these mid0sized SUV models is the xDrive all-wheel-drive system with Dynamic Damper Control, and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC). The front suspension is double wishbone, and the rear suspension is a lightweight multi-link suspension for a smooth-feeling ride and maximum traction on a variety of different road conditions.

Safety: The safety features also remain unchanged between the two trims, so you will always have the most important features at your disposal. Active Driving Assistant adds on a number of driver-assist features such as Active Blind Sport Detection, Daytime Pedestrian Protection, and Frontal Collision Warning with City Mitigation. BMW's Active Protection system detects immediate collisions and prepares for them by automatically closing windows/moonroof, tightening all seatbelts, and activates Fatigue and Focus system.

Technology: Each model features Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay™ with hands-free controls for seamless smartphone integration and distraction-free compatibility. Each model features Dynamic Cruise Control, BMW ConnectedDrive® services and two 12.3-inch display monitors. The xDrive50i trim substitutes the 10-speaker HiFi Sound System for the Harman Kardon® Surround Sound Audio System, which includes 16-speakerars, a 464-watt amplifier, and a subwoofer

Performance: While both of these models feature the same transmission system, the engine of the base xDrive40i trim is a 3.0-liter, 335 horsepower BMW TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder (I6 engine featuring a twin-scroll turbocharger and high-precision direct injection. The engine of the xDrive 50i is a 4.4-liter, 456 horsepower TwinPower Turbo V8 engine with two turbochargers and high-precision direct injection.
